Great-Grandpa's Garden

Such wonders in the world--
Squash and Tomatoes
Banty Chickens and Quail
Smooth brown Cows
with smooth brown calves
Haystacks sticking up into
the blue bowl of horizon
and Grandfathers willing
to show you the wonders
and share the wind
that sweeps mightily
over the Texas plains

Such Wonders!

Sounds like the trip to Texas was a good one. I would love to see the wonders you describe.

Well it would take more than a blog post to explain my teaching methods, but I think I can sum it up with this.
I follow the standard set by Old Testament Law.
First, the statutes must be in my heart. Then I must talk about them every day and "bind then to the hand and head"

I translate that into:
1. Know what I want to teach.

2. Use all three gates to teach it. a. Talk about it
b. Give the student a visual image.
c. Let the student touch and handle something associated with the concept. (Or relate it to a real life experience)

3. Review. Review. Review.
