Through February's whites and crystal skies
It seemed both years and miles too far away
The winds of March whipped round in vicious swirls
Drought in April, scorched wheat, sallow hay
Yet, finally, some green promise. Dare I enter?
Could it mean that now at last we'll see a May?
May will surely come bringing that beautiful feeling of rebirth and fecundity. May in the northern hemisphere is certainly the best time in the year.
ReplyDeleteDare to enter into May - absolutely..I love the edging forward of this poem..moving through that tunnel into green..Jae
ReplyDeleteDescribes our weather the last 3 months to a T. :)
ReplyDeleteLet's hope so Lilibeth - May can be best of the non-winter months.
ReplyDeleteOurs has started brilliantly. Very interesting photographs.
Great poem. Where I live, though, so far May has been quite schizophrenic and I feel stuck in this tunnel, not knowing which end is which!
ReplyDeleteIn my part of Canada, we are just NOW seeing signs of spring. It cannot come soon enough.
ReplyDeleteGreat words, going through the months, and the pictures go with them perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI love how you melded your words and these photos - very creative :) I hope no more drought!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed- now that May's finally here, it seems almost too good to be true!!

I like your writing. My May (NW Oregon) is scattered all over the pavement - the plum trees bloomed pink and their blossoms promptly joined the rain. that's how I'll start my piece! Marsha
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your spring pictures and words. Is oklahoma anywhere near that terrible flooding I see on the news?I hope not.
